In the morning on August 22, the grand groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase project of BIOHIT R&D and production base was held at the site of the project. Feng Liu, the president of BIOHIT, as well as departmental heads and some employees, attended the ceremony. The guests present the ceremony included Heping Bai, secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and director of the Advisory Office of the provincial government, Yixiong Cao, deputy director of the Management Committee of High-tech Zone, and relevant responsible persons from the Investment Promotion Bureau of High-tech Zone and from Gaochuang Company. 

The phase I project of the base covers an area of 25 mus, with the overall floorage being 22,000 square meters. Upon completion, it will be mainly used to manufacture the kits for the test of serum gastric function in the methods of ELISA, POCT and CLIA. More than ten products to be manufactured in the base will be the first of this kind in the world. It is expected that a total of 300 million yuan will be invested in the phase I project. Once going into operation, the project will turn out 75 million kits, and 10,000 test instruments each year, achieve an annual output value of one billion yuan, pay more than 100 million yuan of tax every year, and create 200 job opportunities. 

At the beginning of the ceremony, Mr. Heping Bai, secretary of the party committee and director of the Advisory Office of the provincial government, expressed his congratulations and expectations to BIOHIT. He hoped that BIOHIT would take the opportunity brought by the new R&D base construction, to increase the investment in R&D and production and enhance the market competitiveness, thus to develop BIOHIT into a top biotech enterprise and make more contributions to the economic and social development and people’s health of Anhui. 

Mr. Yixiong Cao, deputy director of the Management Committee of High-tech Zone, on behalf of the High-tech Zone of Hefei, extended warm congratulations to the commencement of the project. The commencement of construction of BIOHIT in-vitro diagnostic reagent R&D and production base, the first project to do so in the biotech industrial park in the High-tech Zone, marked that Hefei made another step forward in developing a world-class health care high-tech zone, and would improve the biomedical industry chain of the High-tech Zone. The High-tech Zone would also provide the best environment for BIOHIT to facilitate its development and growth.

Mr. Ming Yang, president of Anhui Tongyuan Environment Energy Saving Co., Ltd., the unit in charge of construction of the project, also expressed their determination to complete the project at a high quality and a high efficiency.

Mr. Feng Liu, president of BIOHIT Healthcare (Hefei) Co., Ltd., extended warm welcome and heartfelt gratefulness to all the leaders and guests present at the ceremony. In the speech, president Liu reviewed the development of BIOHIT in the past five years. He also pointed out that the groundbreaking ceremony would be a new start for BIOHIT, signifying that BIOHIT was to step into a new stage. 

In the end, leaders of BIOHIT and the guests present at the ceremony shoveled the ground to lay a foundation for the project. The success of the groundbreaking ceremony marked that BIOHIT made a key step in its construction. It was believed that with the support from the governments at provincial, municipal and district level, and with the efforts of all staff, a new modern enterprise up to international management standard would definitely rise sheer from this vibrant land.
