CreateDate:2015-10-31

On October 31, 2015, the launching ceremony of the Early Gastric Carcinoma Screening Program, hosted by the China Health Promotion Foundation, was held in Huizhou District, Anhui Province. The meeting was chaired by Gang Chen, Deputy Secretary-General of China Health Promotion Foundation. Shuzhong Bai, Chairman of China Health Promotion Foundation, Professor Zhaoshen Li, Chairman of Chinese Medical Association Digestive Endoscopy Branch, Liuxin Wu, Chairman of Chinese Medical Association Health Management Branch, and experts from 130 medical institutions medical examination centers nationwide attended the meeting. The success of the meeting marked the official launch of the National Early Gastric Carcinoma Screening Program. Another highlight was the first application of the Internet+ model, which can timely transfer information and analyze results through the network.

China is a country with a high incidence of gastric carcinoma. Each year, There are 400,000 new cases of gastric carcinoma and 350,000 deaths in China. New and dead cases account for 40% of the world. According to statistics of fatality rate, the gastric carcinoma in China ranks third among all cancers. The prognosis of gastric carcinoma is closely related to the diagnosis timing. The 5-year survival rate of early gastric carcinoma is more than 90%; even after comprehensive treatment with surgery, the 5-year survival rate for advanced carcinoma is less than 30 years. At present, the diagnosis and treatment rate of early gastric carcinoma in China is less than 10%, far lower than 70% in Japan and 50% in South Korea, mainly for a lack of screening methods and mechanisms for early gastric carcinoma in China. Internationally, a new effective way to detect early gastric carcinoma with primary serological screening combined with endoscopic diagnosis and treatment has been explored, and it has been widely carried out in some countries, including Finland, Norway, Japan, South Korea, etc. This method has also been included in many consensus opinions.

At the launching ceremony, Chairman Shuzhong Bai and Professor Zhaoshen Li delivered speeches respectively. Chairman Bai briefly introduced the significance for early gastric carcinoma screening, project organization, preparation and process in China. Professor Zhaoshen Li gave a special lecture on “How to identify more early gastric carcinoma”, and recommended that those who are over 40 years old or have a family history of gastric carcinoma should have a serum gastric detection once a year, in order to achieve early diagnosis and early treatment.

Professor Luowei Wang of Changhai Hospital of Shanghai gave a special lecture on the construction of a big data platform for early gastric carcinoma screening and gastric function testing. Professor Haiou Hong from Anhui Provincial Hospital briefly described the application results of early gastric carcinoma screening in health examinations.

Early Gastric Carcinoma Screening Program: By performing GastroPanel® in an asymptomatic population, people at high risk of early gastric carcinoma could be identified by taking 2 ml of venous blood from the subjects. This simple and easy method helps judge the risk of gastric mucosal lesions, which can greatly reduce the cost of medical treatment, and open a new era of non-invasive detection of gastric diseases!

Gastric carcinoma is not terrible, but it is terrible that gastric carcinoma has been already advanced when it is discovered. Early detection of gastric carcinoma can save a happy family. Let’s provide scientific care to stay away from gastric carcinoma.
